A new startup out of the UK is developing a technology to understand and eventually develop code without the need of developers.

DiffBlue, an artificial intelligence startup spun out of Oxford University, has raised $22 million (£17.3 million) in Series A funding for technology which checks and corrects code.

…The startup claims to “understand” code, meaning it can carry out coding tasks considered too repetitive and boring for human developers.

One example is testing developers’ code for bugs.

If successful, DiffBlue will be able to save hours of time for a developer, freeing their time up to focus more on creating rather than reviewing. This is a perfect example of how AI and human labor can work in tandem.
